About Alexander Girkinger
Alexander Girkinger is the founder and owner of the registered sole proprietorship ALGI Advisory e.U and an author of specialist books. He supports investors and industrial companies with technical decisions, complex project situations and industrial transformation.
With more than 35 years of experience in mechanical and plant engineering, automation and international projects, he combines technical depth with practical implementation expertise.
His focus is on technical due diligence, industrial integration, automation strategies and technical risk analysis — particularly where technical decisions have a direct economic impact.
Over the course of his career, Alexander Girkinger has supported and taken responsibility for more than 160 national and international projects — ranging from automation solutions and industrial plants to complex restructuring and technical assessments.
As the long-serving Managing Director of ISW Industriesoftware GmbH, Alexander Girkinger understands both the technical and entrepreneurial perspectives. ISW was sold to the H.-F.-Meyer Group in 2021; his operational role as Managing Director of ISW ended at the close of 2021. He is also a shareholder in GGTech Industrieanlagen GmbH.
Today, his focus is on independent technical consulting and operational project support for investors and industrial companies — for internal decisions as well as M&A processes.
As the owner of ALGI Advisory e.U, Alexander Girkinger holds two Austrian authorisations for regulated trades. These cover management consulting and mechatronics.

Alexander Girkinger co-authored “Deep Learning Rule for Efficient Changepoint Detection in the Presence of Non-Linear Trends”, published in 2021 as part of the international DEXA Conference Workshops.
The work was produced during his time at ISW Industriesoftware GmbH, in collaboration with researchers at the Software Competence Center Hagenberg. It addresses the automated detection of relevant changes in industrial time series, including when these are obscured by non-linear trends.
View publication →The joint project “Predictive Analytics Message Board”, developed by the Software Competence Center Hagenberg and participating industry partners, including ISW Industriesoftware GmbH, received the eAward 2019 in the Industry 4.0 category.
The project focused on predictive analytics and data-based methods for the early detection and analysis of relevant changes and faults in industrial systems. The award recognises the joint project from his time at ISW.
